Get Involved

Become a Member

Membership of MHLET is available to Tasmanians over 16 years old who have a personal lived experience of mental ill-health.

Being involved with MHLET will provide you with information about mental health issues; invitations to upcoming forums about mental health; and social activities where people with a genuine interest in mental health issues can meet and share experiences and ideas.

At the MHLET AGM each year, members can meet the Board of MHLET to receive information about MHLET’s year of activities.

Member Events

MHLET provides multiple opportunities for members to socialise, collaborate, gain new skills, and share their experiences.

We hold a number of events, both recurring and unique, with members invited to attend as many events as they like.

Local Action Groups

Local Action Groups work with their local communities, with government and on behalf of MHLET, to ensure that networks are developed within local communities, government agencies and peer organisations that will foster greater understanding of the impact of mental illness on consumers, and to advise the management of MHLET and state-wide constituency on specific regional issues.

MHLET has Local Action Groups in the South, the North, and the North West of the state to ensure that people with a lived experience of mental ill-health can have a say on the full range of mental health issues that help and block recovery
