Kim comes from a long string of volunteer roles including with the Wilderness Society and the Red Cross in the early 2000s. More recently Kim spent 9 years volunteering for Amnesty International doing human rights work. There he held many roles including Branch Committee member, Videographer, Human Rights Radio Show producer (EDGE Radio), Social Media coordinator, As well as office duties and attending human rights actions and events.
Kim has a Certificate III in Community Services and is currently completing his Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work with hopes of becoming a Peer Worker in the not too distant future.
Kim has a history of lived experience of mental illness and brings a rich understanding of the mental health arena from the perspective of recovery and return to functionality.
