Stage
1
Introduces people to explore ‘what is psychosocial disability’ and the understanding around that term. We discuss the history and current context of the lived experience movement, human and healthcare rights, and we also look at some practical self-advocacy skills (communication, problem -solving and time management). Facilitated in person with small groups.

The participants work through a personalised self-advocacy toolkit that they can keep as a reference guide. It covers health care rights, relationships with healthcare professionals, effective communication and service navigation. Facilitated in person with small groups.

A self-paced online module providing detailed insights into consumer representation.
This stage is brief and will likely take under an hour to complete.

Consumer Representation-in Real time. Participants will be buddied up with a current Consumer rep to see what an official engagement looks like, in person.

Let's do this- Participants complete their Induction and tailored mentoring program to become a paid consumer representative with MHLET.
